J. Chris Newberg

J. Chris Newberg’s refreshingly smart and edgy humor, delivered with a streetwise sense of philosophic cool, has propelled the guitarist/songwriter-turned-comedian to the forefront of the national comedy scene. Newberg’s standup cleverly combines his hilarious and off-beat observations on life with original acoustic guitar songs and infectious melodies. He has been seen on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “Last Comic Standing” and Comedy Central.  Brett Riley is one of the most original fresh faces coming to light in the comedy world. With the swagger of a rock front man and the likability of a college drinking buddy, this walking “series of unfortunate events,” takes the audience on a personal tour of the Riley view. He covers  everything from pop culture to relationships, family, advice on how to mess with people, and the ability to sing well enough, to make your mom forget the other stuff that comes out of his mouth.

Dennis Blair

Dennis Blair is a true Renaissance man. He is an accomplished screenwriter, award-winning songwriter and comedic actor. Yet he is probably best known for the caustic observations and musical satires of his live comedy performances.

Early in his career, Rodney Dangerfield made him his protégé, and together they toured the United States and Canada for over three years. Dennis conceived and co-wrote Rodney’s hit movie, Easy Money, and also played two cameo roles. He co-wrote and was a featured actor in two Dangerfield specials on ABC, and was creative consultant for the album Rappin’ Rodney. The title song (which he co-wrote) was nominated for a Grammy Award.

His post-Rodney career has seen him opening for a multitude of celebrities such as Tom Jones, The Beach Boys, Garry Shandling, Joan Rivers, Gloria Estefan, Jackie Mason, and George Carlin, with whom he toured for over eighteen years. He appeared on The Tonight Show several times. He won an Emmy Award for both writing and voiceovers for the animated film Confessions of a Standup. He has a book, Me First, about his experiences opening for some of the most famous celebrities in show business. He has released two standup comedy CD’s, Live Performance Anxiety, and Words, Music and Drunks as well as an album of original songs called I Sleep Naked in the Rain. He has also dabbled in theater, starring in Los Angeles in his self-penned, one-man musical comedy entitled Also Appearing…, about the ups and downs of his career as an opening act. And his new screenplay, The Money Trail, is being optioned by a production company in Hollywood.

John Caponera

John Caponera always knew he wanted to be in show business, but in what dimension was undetermined until the summer of 1979, when Caponera entered a talent show at a local bar in Chicago. After doing several impressions, he walked away with the $500 winner's pot and a realization that he might have something to offer in the world of comedy.

Caponera's instincts proved right and after two years working the Chicago comedy club circuit, Caponera took his act on the road, where he was immediately accepted. He has honed his act over a 17-year career performing to audiences all over the world. Caponera is considered a comic's comic, a true professional offering a mix of material from topical to impressions, to characterizations to stories and one-liners.

You may recognize Caponera as the star of his own sitcom called The Good Life, or as the host of Comedy Central's sports show Jocks and ESPN's Talk II. Other credits include guest star appearances on ER, Love & War, Blossom, Tales from the Crypt, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Dennis Miller Show, L.A. Law, NBC's miniseries Drug Wars, The John Larroquette Show, The Drew Carey Show, The Crew, and the ESPY Awards.

Jamie Kennedy

Jamie grew up in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, the son of a machinist and a paralegal, and the youngest of six children. He spent his formative years the same way as many children: Tormenting his parents and avoiding any thought of long-term goals. But when Jamie's high school guidance counselor informed him that his grades, test scores and personality best suited him to a career of shoeing horses, he decided that the time had come to get serious about the future. He was going to move to Hollywood and become an actor. Honing his skills on the comedy circuit, Jamie landed his big break being cast in Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio as a punked-out rival to John Leguizamo. His career soon kicked into high gear as he co-starred in his breakthrough performance as Randy Meeks, the video store clerk well-versed in the conventions of scary movies, in Wes Craven's Scream and its follow-up Scream 2.

Since these early days, Jamie has worked alongside some of the biggest names in Hollywood. While doing what he does best alongside legendary comics such as Steve Martin in Bowfinger, you see a harder side of Jamie Kennedy the actor as a street hustler who attacks Greg Kinnear in the Oscar-nominated As Good As It Gets. Across his acting range, he always maintains his crafted ability to add much-needed comedy into dramas, seen in The Three Kings with George Clooney, The Boiler Room with Vin Diesel, and Tony Scott's Enemy of the State, playing a comedic techie in charge of protecting national security alongside Seth Green with Will Smith and Gene Hackman.

Bob Zany

In 1977, at the tender age of fifteen, the native Southern Californian appeared on the infamous Gong Show. Halfway through his stand-up routine, which he read from a piece of paper, he was pulled off the stage by a man dressed like a nun wielding a net. Eleven years later, he made a triumphant return as a celebrity judge. This marked the first of over 100 appearances on national television. In 1981, while attending Mt. San Antonio College, he applied for a job as a newcaster at the campus radio station but was turned down. Later that year, he auditioned for the owner of The Ice House in Pasadena. The audition took place in the middle of the afternoon in a club that seats 300. From the only occupied chair came the voice of the owner, "You're not ready". Zany looked around the empty showroom and said "Neither is your club!" Undaunted, he talked the owner into letting him produce his own show so he could have the stage time, and for the owner, an audience. The result was The Bob Zany Show featuring such newcomers as Garry Shandling, Yakov Smirnoff, Robert Wuhl, Kevin Nealon, and Nia Peeples. After one show, Bob was approached by Frazer Smith, the host of a top-rated radio show on KLOS/LA. After a short time doing guest spots on Frazer's show, Zany was hired by KLOS as a personality with his own show on Saturday mornings. Other accomplishments include the creation of Bob Zany's Comedy Outlets, with over 50 locations throughout California and Nevada; a comedy album "Hi Home, I'm Honey", on Laff Records; a soon-to-be published diet scrapbook, "Laugh at Fat, Bay-bee!", and the highlight of his career to date, being hired by his idol, Steve Martin, to appear on George Burns' Comedy Week. Zany's stage persona has evolved over the years, but the dramatic weight loss in 1991 caused the need for a major overhaul...along with the 175-lbs, he lost 30 minutes of his act. He spent the following year doing late night spots at Hollywood clubs, trying to "reinvent" himself. The result is the cigar-smoking, audience-interactive crowd favorite Bob Zany we know and love today. He is married to comedienne/actress Erin O'Connor, and they live in Los Angeles with their three dogs and three cats.

Tim Gaither

It all began in church at the age of five... One Sunday, the preacher called all the kids at the Southern Baptist church to the front to ask some questions in front of all the adults. When the preacher asked a small tow-headed boy what he thought hell would be like, the boy replied, "Preacher, hell will be hotter than the Walmart parking lot on the Fourth of July barefoot." The church erupted with laughter, the little boy was hooked on the sound and a comic was born.

Fast forward 25 years and Tim Gaither has been on the comedy circuit for a decade, working in 34 states so far and even going as far as Korea for the USO and our troops. In January 2009, Tim officially moved to Hollywood.

Later that year, Tim appeared on The Bob and Tom Show and earned the honor of "Best of Festival" at the Detroit International Comedy Festival.

Mitch Fatel

Is that a sparkle in his eye or is he just confused? With his innocence and friendly demeanor mitch quickly engages the audience and then catches them off guard with his mixture of mischievous dialog and off color comments. While laughing at observations only mitch can get away with we are left wondering if he truly understands what he just said. We never really know.

Mitch has been showcasing his talent to rave reviews for the past 15 years. Since then both appreciative audiences and comedy executives have made the same observation about Mitch¹s rise to stardom, "It's just a matter of time." Well his time has come. The number one requested comedian on Satellite Radio, Mitch has appeared numerous times on both the Late Show with David Letterman and the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. In 2006 he took home honors as "Best Comedian" at the prestigious HBO Aspen Comedy Festival, and in April of 2007 his half hour stand up special debuted on Comedy Central and was ranked #6 all time by viewers. Mitch's' new DVD, Magical, will be debuting in September 2009 which will be tied in to his first one hour special on Comedy Central. Catch this innovative comedian, clearly about to make the jump to bona fide Superstar, while you still can.
